Privacy policy

Skin After Weight Loss (“the site”, “we”) is an Australian editorial website. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how it is handled. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for email.

What we collect

• Email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter or request the free guide. We also record which form on the site you used (for example “guide page” or “homepage”) so we can send you relevant content.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, general location (city or country level, derived from a truncated IP address), device and browser type, and events such as guide downloads, tool completions, and outbound clicks. GA4 sets cookies and generates a random identifier for your browser. We use this to see aggregate patterns, not to identify you personally, and we do not connect it to your email address.

We do not collect health information, payment details, or account credentials. There are no accounts on this site. Our interactive tools (the skin laxity assessment, treatment recommender, and recovery timeline) run in your browser; the answers you enter are not stored on our servers or attached to your identity.

How email addresses are used

Email addresses are used to send the free guide and the newsletter: new treatment guides, blog posts, and Australian updates on this topic. We do not sell, rent, or share the list with anyone. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Who processes the data

The email list is stored and sent through Beehiiv, a newsletter platform based in the United States. By subscribing, your email address is transferred to Beehiiv’s servers overseas (APP 8 cross-border disclosure). Beehiiv is contractually bound to handle subscriber data in line with its privacy policy, and we only provide it the minimum data needed to run the list. The site itself is hosted on Vercel.

Analytics data is processed by Google (Google Analytics), including on servers in the United States (APP 8 cross-border disclosure). We do not run advertising on the site and do not use this data to target ads.

Cookies

The site uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics to measure how visitors use it. These are not used to identify you and are not shared for advertising. It does not set any other tracking or marketing cookies. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking these cookies does not affect your ability to read the site, use the tools, or subscribe.

Access, correction, and deletion

You can unsubscribe using the link in any email. To access, correct, or permanently delete your data, email hello@skinafterweightloss.com.au and we will action it within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@skinafterweightloss.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes affecting how subscriber data is used will be announced by email.
