Treatment reading guide

What would you like to explore?

What it does

It points you at the right reading for where you are. Choose whether you want to understand the options before spending, look at care at home or waiting, research a clinic treatment, or understand skin removal surgery, and it gives you the three pages on this site most worth reading first. Every page it links to carries its sources next to its claims, Australian pricing where it exists, and the risks as well as the benefits.

What it cannot do

It does not recommend a treatment for you. An earlier version matched budget, pain tolerance and downtime to a ranked list of treatments. That was retired because it quietly implied a level of certainty that the evidence does not support: which option suits you depends on an examination, your health history and the area involved, none of which a web form can assess. So it now gives you reading, not a verdict.

How I'd use it

Start with “understand the options before spending” even if you think you already know what you want. The comparison page and the honest-limits page between them will tell you whether a device is likely to be the right tool at all, which is the most expensive question to get wrong. Then take the questions from the clinic pages into a consultation.
